I got a question about how my AI prompt looks, so I’ve updated the How I use AI for my blog post with that info.
A question about newsletters: I can’t quite decide whether to send it weekly or whenever I publish a new post. Since I usually write every day, the latter might feel quite spammy. But maybe some people prefer it that way? What do you think?
Here’s a list of the posts and photos I shared during Blaugust 2025. I also followed the daily Crucial Tracks prompt, picking a song each day and writing a bit about it. I think I’ll keep that going for a while.
I met Annabelle at the cinema.
Weapons: Audiences Disagree On Movie’s Meaning: “We’ve weaponized the idea of being right or wrong about movies, and it’s a boring state to be in.”
I put together a microblog theme based on mnml for bits.birming.com. It’s all done with a few simple custom.css edits. Feel free to use it if you like. (I can write a post about it, if that would be helpful?)
Cool handmade mechanical clock with a built-in calendar spotted at one of today’s clients.
I took my blog theme on a Swedish fika ride. ☕️
Stumbled upon this piece of art today.
I’ve started moving old blog posts into the archives of this new place of mine. It feels a bit strange looking back and realizing it’s been a couple of years since I wrote them.
I just noticed the new Mythos Theme by @mtt. Looks great! 😍
Just gave my photo albums page a complete overhaul. Pretty happy with how it turned out.
I’ve added a Black & White photos album to my “new” photo blog. Have a look if you feel like it.
LESS THAN ONE — great podcast by Kevin Rose. I’ve listened to two episodes. Loved both for different reasons. Check it out. 🎙️ (via Gunnar)
Moved my scattered movie reviews over to my Letterboxd account and imported them to my microblog. Didn’t realize the RSS would use the entry date instead of the watch date. Sorry for the flood, folks 🫢😅
Are you going to watch the Google event in a couple of hours? I am. I may live in the Apple ecosystem, but I still love watching these events.
Bookshelf Town — “a pleasant place to document your reads and share them with your friends”. What a lovely little place! 😍 (via Sylvia)
I learned that it’s World Photography Day today, so I decided to add a Nature album to my photo blog (via Alexandra, David, Gobino).
I thought it would be nice if every second entry in my guestbook showed up in a different color. I ended up with this quick (and not perfect) little fix.
If you’re also using Meadow’s lovely guestbook service (and if not, you really should), just add this snippet to your styles:
#guestbooks___guestbook-messages-container div:nth-child(even) {
filter: contrast(75%);
}
Please note: It only works if you sign my guestbook. Just kidding — but hey, why not?
